Jeep has published the full list of 2027 Jeep Wrangler colors, and it’s a big one: 14 exterior paints, including two colors the Wrangler has never offered before. Ghost is new, Gum 31 is a new limited edition, and Gobi, Sting Gray and Hella Yella return. The catch is that six of those colors are marked “late availability.” Owners on JLWranglerForums say ordering is messier than the list suggests, too. One buyer was told a popular color was gone, and others say some paints can’t be paired with the Sky One-Touch power top. Those reports are unverified forum posts, so we’ve kept them separate from what Jeep has actually announced.
What’s confirmed
Jeep’s “What’s New for 2027” release lists these 2027 Wrangler exterior colors:
- Black
- Bright White
- Firecracker Red
- Granite Crystal
- Hydro Blue
- Earl Grey
- ’41
- Joose
- Gobi (late availability)
- Sting Gray (late availability)
- Hella Yella (late availability)
- Ghost (new, late availability)
- Fathom Blue, limited edition (late availability)
- Gum 31, limited edition (new, late availability)
Jeep calls Ghost and Gum 31 “first-ever” Wrangler colors. It also lists Fathom Blue as new, though owners point out it was sold briefly before. Black is the only interior color on that list. The 2027 Wrangler brochure posted on dealer sites adds a footnote that matters if you’re picky: “Colors may not be available on all models and may be limited / restricted.” Jeep hasn’t published a color-by-trim chart, so you’ll have to get that from a dealer’s order guide.
Paint also costs more on the cheapest Wrangler. CarBuzz reports that the two-door Sport offers only white or blue at no charge. Every other color is a $595 or $795 option, including red, which was free last year.
Prices are up, too. According to CarBuzz, the 2027 Wrangler Sport starts at $38,630 including the $1,995 destination fee, a $600 increase. The Sport S starts at $41,030, and the Sahara jumps $2,500 to $53,405. Equipment changes are small. The Sport, Sport S and Willys get a standard 7-inch color driver display. The Sahara adds the Alpine audio system, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, rear park assist, side steps and the front TrailCam as standard. The Rubicon gets standard heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and navigation. The engines carry over: a 270-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, a 285-hp 3.6-liter V6 (with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic) and the 470-hp 6.4-liter 392 V8. Five Twelve 4 Twelve special editions also carry over: Moab 392, Willys 392, Whitecap, Rewind and Rockslide.
Jeep says the 2027 Wrangler is available to order now. It’s built at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio. Production there was halted earlier this week after a chemical release at a terminal about a mile away. Stellantis canceled both shifts on October 21, and city officials have since shrunk the evacuation zone.

What’s rumored or reported
The ordering chatter comes from a “2027 Colors Update” thread on JLWranglerForums. On October 14, a member said Koons, a dealership, told him Earl was “no longer available” when he tried to spec a 2027 Moab 392. He said Hella Yella appeared to be gone too, and that Joose couldn’t be ordered with the Sky One-Touch power top. He also shared the list of colors the dealer offered him.
Part of that has since been contradicted. Jeep’s official list, which forum members posted on October 22, includes both Earl Grey and Hella Yella. One member wrote that Earl looked “back” once 2027 builds opened online. Another member warned that the Jeep build tool “has very little correlation with what you can actually order” and told buyers to check with a dealer. Earlier in the thread, another member said he’d “heard” Gobi could be ordered now and Ghost “in a couple months,” adding “Not 100% tho.”
The power-top complaint has more support in the thread. Several members shopping for a Moab 392 say some colors don’t come with a color-matched Sky One-Touch top. That rules them out for buyers who want the power top on a $70,000-plus Wrangler. One member said he’s waiting for a Joose Moab with the power top to become orderable. Jeep’s release doesn’t say which colors work with which roofs.
How much should you trust this? Not much on its own. These are forum posts and one secondhand dealer quote, and the Earl claim no longer matches Jeep’s published list. Paint-and-top restrictions are real on Wranglers, though, and the brochure footnote leaves room for them. Treat the restrictions as plausible but unconfirmed until you see them in a dealer’s 2027 order guide.
Picking from the 2027 Jeep Wrangler colors? Check these first
- Ask the dealer to check your exact trim, color and top in the order system, not on the consumer configurator.
- “Late availability” means the color is on the list but can’t be built yet. Jeep hasn’t given dates for Gobi, Sting Gray, Hella Yella, Ghost, Fathom Blue or Gum 31.
- Limited-edition colors like Fathom Blue and Gum 31 can disappear quickly. Owners say Fathom Blue was only offered for a short window last time.
- On a base Sport, budget $595 to $795 for anything other than white or blue.
