Ford Trucks News: F-150, Raptor, Ranger, Maverick, Bronco & Super Duty

Ford trucks have two big dates to watch. Ford Racing has teased a Raptor reveal for Saturday, Oct. 24 (“How do you create a monster?”), and owners hope it means a V8 comeback, though Ford hasn’t mentioned an engine (Raptor V8 story). The SEMA Show follows Nov. 3–6 in Las Vegas, and a Ford rep reportedly told one Bronco owner to watch it (Bronco Raptor story). The current F-150 Raptor R already has a 720-hp supercharged 5.2-liter V8, and the 2027 F-150 adds new grilles, BlueCruise with towing and a Carhartt package, per Ford.com. On the EV side, the Ford Fathom midsize electric pickup lists at $28,350 before a $1,595 destination charge, with preorders opening in early 2027, but Ford’s terms say the dealer sets the selling price (Fathom pricing).

Is the Ford Raptor getting a V8 again?

Ford hasn’t announced one. The F-150 Raptor R already uses a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 rated at 720 hp and 640 lb-ft (Ford.com). Owners think Ford’s Oct. 24 teaser points to a new V8, but the official caption only talks about the first Raptor (Raptor V8 story).

How much is the Ford Fathom?

Ford lists a starting MSRP of $28,350 with the standard-range battery, plus a $1,595 destination charge. Preorders open in early 2027, and Ford’s terms say dealers set the final selling price (Fathom pricing).

Is the Bronco Raptor getting a new engine?

Nothing is official. For 2027, Ford offers a 380-hp 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 on the Bronco Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage and Filson, close to the Raptor’s 418 hp. A Ford rep’s “watch SEMA” hint is unverified (Bronco Raptor story).

Ford lists a 325-hp 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, a 400-hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 400-hp 5.0-liter V8 and a 430-hp 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid. The Raptor gets a 450-hp high-output 3.5-liter, and the Raptor R the 720-hp supercharged V8. Max towing is 13,500 pounds (Ford.com).

How much can the Ford Maverick tow?

Ford rates the Maverick at 2,000 pounds as standard and 4,000 pounds with the 4K Tow Package. The standard hybrid is EPA-rated at 42 mpg city with front-wheel drive (Ford.com).
