Audi hasn’t announced the RS Q5, so there’s no official Audi RS Q5 price yet. Regular and Sportback prototypes have been lapping the Nürburgring since September, as we covered in our RS Q5 leaked-images story, and the plug-in hybrid hardware on them points straight at the new RS 5. Here’s what the first-ever RS Q5 would likely cost in the US, what it should pack and when it could arrive. All forward figures are usonwheels estimates.
What’s confirmed
Nothing about the RS Q5 itself is official. What Audi has confirmed is the powertrain it’s widely expected to share. The new RS 5, revealed February 19, 2026, is Audi Sport’s first plug-in hybrid. It pairs a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 (510 PS) with a 130-kW electric motor for 639 PS (about 630 hp) and 825 Nm (about 608 lb-ft), using a 25.9-kWh battery. Audi of America says US pricing, specs and EPA figures will come closer to the US on-sale date. In Germany, the RS 5 sedan starts at €106,200.
For US price context, Car and Driver lists the 2027 SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback from $67,295 to $68,695. The closest rival on sale, the plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E Performance, starts at $86,750 for 2026.
What’s rumored or reported
Carscoops, autoevolution and auto motor und sport all expect the RS 5’s hybrid V6. Spotters have pointed out a charging flap and a high-voltage sticker on the prototypes. auto motor und sport expects the RS Q5 to be a little slower than the RS 5 because of its extra weight, but still under four seconds to 62 mph, and it expects showroom models in Europe in 2027. Carscoops calls it the 2028 RS Q5. Nobody has a reveal date.
Expected Audi RS Q5 price in the US
There’s a wide gap between a $67,295 SQ5 and a $86,750 GLC 63, and the RS Q5 has to sit at the top of it. It would carry a far more complex plug-in hybrid V6 than the SQ5, and it would compete directly with the AMG. Once Audi of America prices the RS 5, that number will be the best clue to where the RS Q5 lands.

Expected specs
- The expected powertrain is the RS 5’s plug-in hybrid 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with about 630 hp and 608 lb-ft. Those are global RS 5 figures confirmed by Audi; the RS Q5 link is reported.
- The RS 5 reaches 62 mph in 3.6 seconds (Audi). auto motor und sport expects the heavier RS Q5 to stay under four seconds.
- Expect the RS 5’s 25.9-kWh battery and 11-kW AC charging (usonwheels estimate, since the two share a platform). US electric range would be rated by the EPA later.
- The spy photos show a taller grille, flared arches over a wider track and big oval RS exhaust tips.
Expected US release date
The RS 5 shows how Audi is pacing this hardware. It was revealed in February 2026 with European deliveries expected from summer 2026, while The Drive reports the US launch is expected sometime in 2027. On that reporting, the US runs about a year behind Europe.
If the RS Q5 reaches European showrooms in 2027, as auto motor und sport expects, a similar lag puts US deliveries in 2028, probably as a 2028 or 2029 model. The reveal would likely come in 2027. How we estimated this
We set the price between the SQ5 and the closest plug-in hybrid rival, the GLC 63 S E Performance, then allowed room above it because Audi hasn’t priced the RS 5 here yet. Timing follows the RS 5’s Europe-first rollout. We’ll update these numbers when the RS 5 gets its US price.
