Tesla’s Wall Connector 4 FCC filing confirms a next-gen home charger is in the pipeline. It does not price it, date it, or show the finished box. This wall connector 4 price follow-up lays out what is confirmed on the public grant, what Gen 3 still costs in the US shop, and how we estimate a US sticker and arrival window without inventing official numbers.

Tesla Wall Connector 4: What’s Confirmed

The FCC grant for ID 2AEIM-1997721 names the product Wall Connector 4. The public label sample lists model WC4-NACS-02, 200–240V / 48A single-phase, Type 3R enclosure, −30°C to 50°C operating range, and Made in Mexico. Final action date on the grants is November 4, 2026. Radios in the packet cover Bluetooth Low Energy, a 315 MHz transmitter, and 13.56 MHz NFC. Test reports split “body” and “handle,” the same pattern Tesla used on the Universal Wall Connector.

That 48-amp ceiling matches today’s Gen 3 Wall Connector on the US shop. The filing is not a higher-power charger on paper. Tesla has not listed Wall Connector 4 on tesla.com/charging and has not published a shop price.

What We Still Don’t Know About Wall Connector 4

External photos, internal photos, test-setup photos and the user manual stay under short-term confidentiality until May 4, 2027. The grant does not state a US on-sale date, a replacement schedule for Gen 3, Wi‑Fi 6 claims, PowerShare changes, or a Universal/J1772 sibling SKU. The NACS string in WC4-NACS-02 fits North America; it does not prove a multi-connector retail kit.

Wall Connector 4 Price: Expected US Cost

Tesla has not priced Wall Connector 4. Shop-change trackers put the current US Gen 3 Wall Connector around $585 and the Universal Wall Connector around $660 as of mid-October 2026, after a September bump from $535 / $600 (GetTesla summarizing Not a Tesla App shop tracking; teslawallcharger.com Oct 13, 2026 snapshot). Always re-check shop.tesla.com before you buy; Tesla changes accessory prices without fanfare.

usonwheels estimate (not official): if Wall Connector 4 launches as a straight Gen 3 replacement at the same 48A class, a US shop range of about $575–$650 for a NACS-only box, and about $650–$750 if Tesla also sells a Universal-style kit, is the most grounded band. Reasoning:

  • Gen 3 sat near $535 for a stretch, then moved to about $585 in September 2026 — a ~9% step that shows Tesla will raise charger prices even without a new generation.
  • The Universal kit has recently sat about $75 above the NACS-only Gen 3 unit.
  • The FCC label keeps the same 48A rating, so there is no filing evidence for a “higher kW equals higher sticker” jump.
  • A modest new-generation premium of roughly $0–$65 over today’s Gen 3 fits recent Tesla shop behavior better than a jump past $700 for a same-amp NACS box.

If Tesla later confirms a higher continuous amp rating, new load-sharing hardware, or bundled install promotions, those numbers move. Until then, treat anything outside that band as speculation without a source.

Expected Specs: Confirmed, Reported, Estimated

  • Confirmed (FCC label / grants): model WC4-NACS-02; 200–240V single-phase; 48A; Type 3R; −30°C to 50°C; BLE + 315 MHz + NFC; Made in Mexico; FCC ID 2AEIM-1997721.
  • Reported / inferred from filing structure: separate body and handle radio paths (same pattern as Universal Wall Connector). Wi‑Fi and Ethernet MAC fields appear on the label artwork — that shows the artwork expects network IDs, not that Tesla has published Wi‑Fi 6 or Ethernet install options.
  • usonwheels estimate: maximum power around 11.5 kW at 240V / 48A if the label rating is the retail ceiling (same math as Gen 3). Cable length, Wi‑Fi band details, power-sharing count and app features are not in the public exhibits we can quote.

Expected US Arrival Window

Tesla has not announced a Wall Connector 4 on-sale date. Short-term confidentiality on photos and the manual runs through May 4, 2027. That date is a design-secrecy clock, not a ship date, but it is the strongest public timing clue in the packet.

usonwheels estimate: a US shop listing sometime in mid-to-late 2027 is more plausible than an immediate Gen 3 cutover, based on (1) photos still locked into May 2027, (2) Gen 3 still being the live shop SKU with no teardown notice, and (3) Tesla’s habit of clearing radio grants months before a charger shows up in the shop. An earlier soft launch is possible if Tesla drops confidentiality early; we have no source saying that will happen.

How we estimated this

Price band: current US Gen 3 / Universal shop prices from September–October 2026 shop-change reports, plus the recent Gen 3 step-up size. Specs: only the public FCC label and grants for confirmed items; Gen 3’s published 11.5 kW math for the same 48A / 240V ceiling as an estimate. Arrival: FCC confidentiality end date plus the fact Gen 3 remains the listed US product. None of the estimates are leaks or Tesla statements.

If Tesla priced Wall Connector 4 at today’s Gen 3 sticker with the same 48-amp limit, would you still upgrade for the new box, or wait for a real feature jump?
